When I mention to people my passion for essential oils, the oil they are most familiar with is usually lavender. Lavender is known for its soothing and comforting properties. Lavender has been used throughout history; seen in ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, and the Middle Ages to mask the scent of the victims of the plague. The healing benefits of lavender began to be seriously investigated in the 1920's when French chemist, René-Maurice Gattefossé, badly burned his hand and plunged it to a vat of lavender essential oil. To his amazement that the burn healed quickly and there was little scaring, lead to his research in to aromatherapy.
Lavender's calming scent helps to ease feelings of stress, tension and anxiety. It is often sprayed on bedroom linens to help support a calm and restful night's sleep. Adding a few drops of lavender oil to your Epson salts in a warm bath and create a soothing bath time soak. Topically, as mentioned earlier, lavender can help to support skin irritations and imperfections. DoTerra's Lavender is also safe to take internally (I cannot speak for lavender not from DoTerra). If you have not tried DoTerra's Lavender Chocolate Disks recipe, check it out here (don't worry if you do not have vanilla bean paste, you can sub in vanilla extract).
Lavender is included in most enrollment kits. Get started with a familiar oil, immediately! Reach out to get yours!
